Less is more, or more is less?

Typically, I love a really full arrangement. Generally, the more flowers, and colors, the better. But for some reason during my last Trader Joe’s run, I decided to do the complete opposite, and went for something much more simple, and that will last for at least a week or so. Usually I don’t have a problem going crazy with my arrangements, but for whatever reason, I STRUGGLED to find the right color combination. In this moment, I decided for the next week or so, less was going to be more.

Arrangement #1: Tulip Time

Much like roses, tulips are so simple, yet so beautiful. IMO, these are one of the only flowers that can stand alone, and really don’t need to be combined with any other flowers. Regardless of the flower, pink, and white tend to be my go to colors,…

Much like roses, tulips are so simple, yet so beautiful. IMO, these are one of the only flowers that can stand alone, and really don’t need to be combined with any other flowers. Regardless of the flower, pink, and white tend to be my go to colors, so I decided this simple white arrangement was just what I needed, and really didn’t need much more. Sadly, these lasted for only a few days. I LOVE tulips, so I’ll have to do some reearch to see what I an can do to make them last longer next time.

Arrangement #2: Alstroemeria (Peruvia Lilly) & Babies Breath

FUN FACT - Babies Breath last FOREVER! Typically, I’m not too big on using them in arrangements, but SOMETIMES..I have an urge. In this case, this was one of those times.

Alstroemeria, also known as Peruvian lillies, are another flower that I’ve found from putting together past arrangements, that also last for a long time. AT LEAST 2 weeks at a minimum. Since last week, I’ve changed the water and replaced with flower food at least once and they’re still as beautiful as ever. Although this arrangement has a little more to it than the tulips, it’s still simple.

Of course, the best part of putting together these arrangements? The tulips, lillies, and babies breath for about $20? Yes please! Courtesy of my local Trader Joe’s :)
