Roses + Rosé

October 2020 popped its head in, saw how much craziness was taking place this year, created its own exit strategy, and exited stage left! It was a hectic month where my professional life took over as I planned my job’s largest corporate fundraiser of the year, so unforunately I wasn’t in a space where I was able to make time and create arrangements for my home as I tend to do every two weeks or so.
Now that working from home is the new norm, sometimes it’s hard to separate work life from home life. Personally, I struggle with creating this boundary. After planning a successful corporate event, I realized I was burnt out and decided to take five much needed days off. After reflecting on my time off, I realized this was everything I needed and more. I can’t stress the importance of taking time off! I had only taken two days off pre-pandemic, and didn’t realize how important it is to have time to myself to enjoy the small things, pandemic and all. With that said, the first day of my vacation I decided to coordinate schedules with my bestie and take a trip to Potomac Point Winery, located in Stafford, VA.
I’d visited this winery years ago and remembered wanting to go back when the weather was nicer. With a 75 degree sunny day in place, this was the perfect day to enjoy al fresco dining.
As a Northern Virginia native, I’ve visited plenty of wineries. When it comes to aesthetics, this one takes the cake! With its amazing views and of course, wine, the Mediterranean- inspired vineyard is perfect for a girls day out or day date with bae. I wish I had thought to take more pictures (Because if you didn’t capture it on your phone, did it even happen? LOL), but we were truly living in the moment and having a much needed girls day filled with plenty of girl talk, a FEW pictures, and a few glasses of Chardonnay and Rose :).
Due to COVID, Potomac Point is currently operating at reduced capacity so reservations are required. Since we’re approaching the holidays, those 65+ degree days are starting to wind down. If we get lucky and have one of those days sometime soon, I strongly recommend taking the day trip and head out for a day at the vineyard!
